Stallholder FAQs
What can I sell at the Market?
Bream Creek Farmers Market is actively seeking new stallholders to join our vibrant community of local producers, artisans and food vendors. We’re passionate about showcasing the best of Tasmania, and we invite applications from those who meet our key criteria in three categories, farm gate producers, on-site food stallholders and artisans.
Farm Gate Producers
Stallholders who grow, catch, pick, or produce fresh, seasonal Tasmanian goods. This includes, but is not limited to, vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, pulses, meats, poultry, seafood, eggs, honey and dairy, as well as value-added products such as baked goods, jams, sauces, and confectionery.
Key criteria: All products must be grown, produced, or sourced in Tasmania, with a preference for organic and sustainable practices. We also prioritise traceability, clear labeling and eco-friendly packaging.
On-Site Food Stallholders
Self-sufficient food vendors offering fresh, ready-to-eat meals for both on-site and off-site. This could include food vans, stalls with cooking equipment, or other food concepts.
Key Criteria: Stallholders must provide their own cooking equipment and comply with food safety regulations and gas and electrical standards. We encourage using locally sourced ingredients, with at least some portion coming from Tasmanian producers. Waste reduction and eco-friendly packaging are also important considerations.
Artisans
Tasmanian artisans who create handmade products that have a clear connection to Tasmania, for example the use of local materials or ingredients. This could include anything from pottery and textiles to candles, woodworking and jewellery.
Key Criteria: All items must be handmade by the artisan, with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship and originality. We encourage artisans to incorporate local materials and tell the story behind their work.
I want to be part of the market, but live outside the Bream Creek area. Can I still participate?
Absolutely! We welcome all Tasmanians to join us, no matter where you’re based. Our definition of “local” is broad—if you’re growing Granny Smith apples in Huonville, harvesting honey in Oatlands, or making sausages in Launceston, we’d love to have you as part of our market community.
I’m a stallholder who wishes to sell food, what are the guidelines for food handling and registration?

Can I buy products and then on-sell them at the market?
No, the market is focused on connecting customers directly with the growers, makers and producers behind the products. This ensures customers know the origin of the food and goods they’re purchasing. If you’re unable to attend, a family member, friend, or staff member who is knowledgeable about your products can sell on your behalf. If you have a unique circumstance that doesn’t fit this, please contact the committee. For smaller quantities of produce, you may also consider using the Community Stall.
