Calling all pavlova legends! Defend your reputation and enter the Bream Creek Farmers’ Market annual challenge for the best pavlova in the countryside!
To win…
- Bring your pav to the Luncheon Room, Bream Creek Showgrounds by 9:45am and register. It’s free. You don’t get your pav back, although we may wash your plate…
- The Show Kitchen and fridge will be available from 8:30 if you need to construct your winning entry on site.
- Judging will be 10:00-11:00. Patrons can view pavlovas during judging; encouragement and heckling are all permitted.
- Winners will be announced at 11:00, followed by sales of slices of pav.
1st prize is $50 and the 2027 Champions Trophy, sponsored by the Bream Creek Club (see judging notes below)
Novelty and Junior (under 15) awards are $25 prizes, sponsored by Tongola Cheese
Our judges are the award-winning chef and consultant Paul Foreman, and local identity, actor, and barista Abel Harris with 7 years of experience judging our pavs
1st prize will be judged according to:
- Texture – crisp shell, marshmallow interior
- Volume – does it fill the shell
- Taste
- Innovation
- True to recipe
